Operatio Snow Angel
SITUATION: The Honorable Brian Arrigo, Mayor, City of Revere, has tasked the RHS Patriot BN to shovel snow for Revere residents who meet the specified eligibility criteria as established by the city. Service learning experiences can become the starting point for reaching out — doing something good for those around you and making the world a better place. In this lesson, Cadets identify the components of service learning and begin planning how they can help make a difference in your community.
MISSION: On order, RHS Patriot BN, JROTC, 2nd BDE, Cadet Command, will dispatch in teams, to 48 specified Revere residences to provide snow removal operations within 4 hours of a storm in support of the Service Learning mission as specified in the JROTC curriculum.
EXECUTION:
Commander’s Intent: It is my intent to safely and efficiently deploy RHS Patriot BN (-), JROTC, 2nd BDE, Cadet Command to their assigned residences to provide shoveling assistance to those who have met the eligible criteria established by the city.
Endstate: To successfully and safely complete the shoveling mission.
Cadets have been assigned to teams based on the ward and precinct of their address. Each team has been assigned a set number of residences that fall under the same ward and precinct. Each team will deploy, with its captain and corresponding members, to their assigned residences. On completion of their task, the team captain will contact command. Command will keep track of completed residences and those yet to be completed. When each team has successfully completed their task entirely, they will be dismissed by their captain.
SERVICE SUPPORT:
Salt – Each Precinct Team Leader (PTL) has been issued:
- (1) 40lb bag of salt distributed into (8) 5-lb ziploc bags in a 5-gallon bucket
- (2) shovels per precinct
COMMAND & SIGNAL:
Command: Current Chain of Command is in effect. All team captains will be notified by C/BN CDR or C/BN XO to begin the mission.
Signal: Primary communication is cell phone / text message/ iMessage.
Residence tracking will be done on the RHS Army JROTC website.
