Principal

Chris Bowen

Mr. Christopher Bowen is the Principal at Revere High School.  Chris began his career in education as a middle school mathematics teacher.  Prior to joining Revere High School as Freshman Academy Assistant Principal in 2018 he worked at Framingham High School as a teacher, class advisor and alternative program director.   Chris has a passion for identifying systemic issues that impact subgroups of students and working collaboratively with other educators to solve those problems.  He holds a B.A. in Mathematics, an M.A. in Sociology, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Boston College and a Graduate Certificate in Restorative Practices from the International Institute for Restorative Practices.  He is excited to work with the Revere High School Community to build a school culture that is inclusive, restorative and focussed on academic excellence.

Deputy Principal

Caitlin A. Reilly

Ms. Caitlin A. Reilly is the Deputy Principal at Revere High School. She has been an educator for the past 14 years and is excited to be a part of the RHS community.  Ms. Reilly is from the D.C. area and began her career as a High School Spanish Teacher and later, Instructional Coach, at César Chávez Public Charter School in Washington D.C. Following graduate studies, she returned and became Vice Principal at César Chávez before moving to become Principal of Summit Prep Charter High School in Redwood City, California.  She recently returned to Massachusetts to be near family, and she is excited to join the RHS community.  Ms. Reilly earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Spanish from the University of Virginia, her Master’s in Teaching from American University, and her Master’s in School Leadership from Harvard University.  Ms. Reilly believes supportive, trusting relationships are foundational to a strong community where students learn and thrive, and she looks forward to building such relationships with students, teachers, staff and caregivers in her work here as a leader at RHS. ¡Ella también habla español si lo prefiere!

RHS Assistant Principal
Freshman Academy
Grade 9 - Brown House - 2nd. Floor

Pierina Santos-Margaritov

Ms. Pierina Santos-Margaritov is the Assistant Principal for the Class of 2026 (Brown House, 9th Grade)  She brings to the Revere High School Community her experience as a literacy coach, special education teacher, paraeducator, and SAT/ACT tutor. She spent the last five years at the middle school level focusing on identifying and closing academic gaps, including working with students one-on-one, in small groups, and overseeing literacy intervention groups. Ms. Santos-Margaritov worked with teachers across content areas on data-led instruction to focus on providing students with opportunities to demonstrate grade-level mastery. As a literacy expert, she sat on the panel of CURATE to review middle school English language arts curricula and ensure they meet Massachusetts state standards and students’ needs. Ms. Santos-Margaritov is passionate about accelerated learning, curriculum development, and providing meaningful professional development opportunities to teachers. Ms. Santos-Margaritov is of Dominican descent and is fluent in Spanish. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Italian from St. John’s University and a Master of Education in Elementary Education and Special Education from Rivier University. She is excited to work with the Revere High School community and looks forward to serving students, families, and staff.

RHS Assistant Principal
Grade 10 - Green House - 1st. Floor

Julianne Falzarano

Ms. Julianne Falzarano is the Assistant Principal for the Class of 2025 (Green House, 10th Grade).  A Revere High School graduate, she has been working in Revere Public Schools since 2007 as a Mathematics/Business Teacher at RHS as well as the Head Coach of the RHS Cheerleading Team. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Northeastern University and continued her studies receiving a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Lesley University and most recently earned her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership through the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is passionate about involving students in decision making, creating exciting learning pathways, and helping students make connections in the building as well as with our Revere Community that will provide them with the resources to succeed while at RHS and beyond. RHS Assistant Principal
Grade 11 - Red House - 3rd. Floor

Jorge Ortega
Dr. Jorge Ortega, Ed. D. is the Assistant Principal for the Class of 2024 (Red House, 11th Grade).  He has been working in education for over two decades in different capacities, from preschool Director to college-level adjunct lecturer in Social Science.  Dr. Ortega received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Latin American Studies and a Master of Arts in Social Studies and Adolescent Education from Queens College of the City University of New York.  With the desire to continue improving his education and that of his communities, Dr. Ortega went on to earn a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.  Multiculturalism and social diversity are major interests for Dr. Ortega to seek opportunities for educational advancement.  Originally from Colombia, Dr. Ortega understands the experiences of immigrant students, which he has worked with in his extensive teaching experience in public schools in Boston, New York City, Miami, and a private school in Massachusetts. As a participant of the Fulbright Scholar Program, Dr. Ortega visited Kenya and Tanzania in East Africa to learn about the influence of Islam on the Swahili culture, further strengthening his cultural and educational knowledge.  Being bilingual in Spanish and English gives Dr. Ortega an extra tool to be a helpful link between the school and the Revere community.

RHS Assistant Principal
Grade 12 - Blue House - 1st. Floor

Afton Dean
Ms. Afton Dean is the Assistant Principal for the Class of 2023 (Blue House, 12th Grade).  She joins Revere High School after spending the past ten years in the Lynn Public Schools, serving as an Instructional Technology Teacher. Ms. Dean holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from Bentley University. In 2017, she earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern New Hampshire University. In 2021, she earned an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Gordon College. Ms. Dean has a passion for education and preparing students with college and career ready skills to thrive in the competitive global economy. Her mission is to promote learning for all students in a safe and supportive environment. Ms. Dean is excited to join the Revere High School Team and looks forward to partnering with all members of the school community.

RHS Assistant Principal
Student Success - 3rd. Floor

Lena Marie Rockwood

Lena Marie Rockwood, Ed.D. is the Assistant Principal for Student Success.  She has been working in the RPS district for 23 years. She taught science at GMS for eight years and was an assistant principal at Lincoln Elementary for seven years, Rumney Marsh Academy for three years before moving to the high school as the Freshman Academy Assistant Principal for the Class of 2021. Dr. Rockwood worked with CO 2021 for four years and then worked with the Class of 2022 last year during their Senior Year. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education at Salem State and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She has completed the Certificate in School Management and Leadership (CSML), which is a joint program of the Harvard School of Education and the Harvard Business School. Dr. Rockwood is a passionate reader who continues to encourage students (and adults) to read for pleasure in an effort to help them develop a lifelong love of reading. She is actively involved with the International Literacy Association and has been on the Social Justice Literature Award Committee for the past few years. When not at school, she will most likely be reading a book or assembling a jigsaw puzzle.
