Coast Collaborative

Program Description. Coast Collaborative is an alternative pathway to graduation designed as a school within a school, supported by a school adjustment counselor, a special education teacher and a paraprofessional. Coast is a small, supportive environment with a shortened day (4 hours) targeting needs of a unique population of students, with extreme circumstances, who have not been successful in a traditional school model.  Learning and instruction is provided independently, and at the students’ pace, through an online learning platform (APEX).  Coast’s success is a result of its limited capacity and its outreach to providers and families.  Coast should only be considered after every possible intervention has been considered, implemented and exhausted.
